There must be a movie exec or two who, every few years, decides in a board room meeting that it's time for another body swap movie. In the past we've had Big, Vice Versa, Freaky Friday, and 13 Going On 30 to name but a few.
There is a bit of a difference here as the two body swappers in question are (if you hadn't worked it out from the title) of different genders instead of the usual teenage/parent exchange, so you do at least get an almost original basis for the ensuing hilarity.
Next-door neighbours Woody Deane the school hunk and Nell Bedworth the school geek have nothing at all in common and in fact despise each other. So it would be a real shock for these two to end up switching bodies of course. Cue much hilarity. Well, a bit of mild hilarity at least as they set about trying to destroy each other's images and reputations at school.
But there's a bit of a twist here. Suffice to say an unlikely romance develops. That development is nowhere near as weird as the casting choice of Sharon Osbourne as the mother of the lead male character! She was bad enough in TV adverts fro Asda and we can only hope that she's never allowed anywhere near a film set ever again.
Anyway, aside from that and other, more predictable, aspects of the film, it's mildly engaging teen stuff.
