Boogie Nights star could be joining Chris Pratt in Marvel's new offbeat blockbuster
John C. Reilly has reportedly been offered a role in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.
The 'Boogie Nights' and 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' star is being talked up by film site HitFix for the role of Rhomann Dey from the Marvel comic books.
Dey's character is said to be a go-between placed in the middle of the Guardians in space and S.H.I.E.L.D on Earth.
Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman and Ken Watanabe are also said to be in Marvel's sights for a role in the unorthodox superhero film.

Already on board are 'Parks and Recreation' star Chris Pratt, playing the leader of the Guardians, Star-Lord, alongside 'Avatar's Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and WWE star Dave Bautista as Drax.
Also recently announced for the cast is Michael Rooker, the star of 'The Walking Dead', who will play Yondu, 'a Zatoan tribesman from Centauri IV' and a founding member of the cosmic team, and 'Hobbit' star Lee Pace in a so-far unconfirmed role.
Director James Gunn's vision of the leftfield comic book series appears to be shaping up, with further casting announcements due soon,
It's planned for release on August 1, 2014.
