Beatrice and Henry are inexplicably and impossibly stuck in 1991 - stuck in the same jobs and fashions, stuck with the same scars and habits, and stuck watching the same thing on television day in and day out. For 40 years, they have been prisoners of their marriage - and the Gulf War, which rages on TV from the moment they meet until the hour of their death. By cutting back and forth between their first and last years together, the film paints a portrait of a couple blind to the love that binds them, but who yearn for - and finally rediscover - a grace they thought they'd lost forever.
