This double bill from director Baz Luhrmann boasts a staggering nine hours of DVD extras.
Moulin Rouge is an extraordinary, multicoloured musical set at the turn of the 19th-Century. Christian (Ewan McGregor), an eager young English poet who's newly-arrived in Paris, hooks-up with some fellow creative spirits and is soon roped into writing a show for the legendary Moulin Rouge club. A twist of fate sees Christian alone with the Moulin Rouge's lead courtesan, Satine (Nicole Kidman), and the two fall deeply in love. However, a jealous duke, who's financing the Moulin's renovation and the show, will stop at nothing to ensure that Satine becomes his property.
Romeo + Juliet stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes as the star-crossed lovers, whose clandestine relationship is doomed. While their families wage war, the youngsters search for a peaceful way to live but overbearing strife's never far from erupting.
Luhrmann's whirling visual eye and zesty pacing turned these two movies into major cinematic events and now they're available to enjoy once more on DVD.
