MacFarlane won't be back to host the Oscars
Despite having previously ruled it out, he now says scheduling has made it a no-go
Seth MacFarlane has confirmed that he won't be hosting the Oscars again.
The 'Family Guy' creator took on the role this year, but his performance was met with a decidedly mixed response.
He had initially tweeted that he had no intention of hosting the show again.
“No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though,” he said, seemingly emphatically after being asked just days after the 2013 ceremony.

But it seems that he was indeed mulling doing it all again, but could not make it work.
Once again he took to Twitter to deliver the news.
“Traumatized critics exhale: I’m unable to do the Oscars again,” he wrote. "Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep.
“However, I highly recommend the job, as Zadan and Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business. My suggestion for host is Joaquin Phoenix.”
MacFarlane was roundly slated for his performance, which angered some sections of the entertainment community for its easy jokes.
The song skit 'We Saw Your Boobs', in which he listed actresses who'd appeared naked in films gone by, was the subject of particular criticism, while the Anti-Defamation League took him to task over perpetuating Jewish stereotypes with his gags as his character 'Ted'.
Likely the reason that MacFarlane couldn't make the project work is his current focus on his directorial debut, the western 'A Million Ways To Die In The West'.
