More character details for Transformers sequel

Wahlberg will play leading lady's dad, while shooting will also take place in Austin, Texas

Some further character details have been revealed for 'Transformers 4', thanks to casting notices posted in Los Angeles and Austin, Texas.

Mark Wahlberg is set to play Flynn Vincent in the sequel, the father of leading lady Nicola Peltz's character.

Peltz is the girlfriend of US-born, Irish-raised actor Jack Raynor's character, a so-far unnamed racing driver who is the film's lead.

Meanwhile, British actress Sophia Myles, previously seen in the likes of 'Spooks', has landed a major role as a scientist.

It follows news that Kelsey Grammer has now bee cast as the film's lead human villain Harold Attinger, a counter-intelligence agent.

There are also roles for 'Hunger Games' star Stanley Tucci, Peter Cullen, who will once again voice Optimus Prime, and Glenn Morshower, playing General Morshower.

And as the casting notices for extras were also posted in Austin as well as Los Angeles, it's thought some of the film will be shot in Texas too.

Director Michael Bay's film, being a Chinese co-production, will also be heading to the Far East for shooting too.

It was recently announced that four roles for Chinese stars will be allocated via a reality TV talent show.

It's due out in June, 2014.
