Possibly the finest moment of the all too short career of Jim Belushi, National Lampoon's Animal House makes the likes of Old School, Van Wilder and Road Trip look like Disney flicks.
First released in 1978, this helping of mayhem is set during the early-'60s and follows a group of US college pals who are determined to prevent their alma mater's dean (John Vernon) from booting them out and tearing-down their fraternity house.
At the heart of the movie is the character of Bluto (John Belushi), an unapologetic savage who likes to down a bottle of whiskey while he's thinking, but the whole gang, including Otter (Tim Matheson), D-Day (Bruce McGill) and Pinto (Tom Hulce,) are superbly anarchic.
And this John Landis film is also responsible for making Toga parties so 'de reguir' at college campuses up and down the US.
