During World War II, an American Army Captain is sent to Calcutta for medical supplies and reinforcements for his trrops, battling the Japanese in Burma. Once there, he strikes up an affair with beautiful wife of an international arms dealer. When he returns to the front his men are ambushed by Chinese Nationalist guerillas and he wreaks havoc on their villages in revenge--disobeying orders. At his court-martial trial, he is reunited with the woman he loves.
