New Carrie clip lands
Closet-based terror is unveiled.
The most unsettling part of the first 'Carrie' remake trailer, released earlier this year, was the whole 'go to your closet' business...
Now the scene is presented in full in a new clip from the contentious movie, a re-tread of Brian De Palma's much-revered 1976 classic.
Channelling her best 'crazy mum', the peerless Julianne Moore gives us a snapshot of the events that will lead Chloe Grace Moretz on a path to massive, blood-soaked, disco destruction.
[Why horror movie remakes are always awful]
Whether it will garner more approval for the movie full-stop is open to debate.
The original version, with its – no spoilers – benchmark shock ending and star turn from the unsettling Sissy Spacek is a favourite in the horror movie canon.
Stephen King - who wrote the original book and rarely approves of the film adaptations of his work - even liked the first film and remains somewhat sceptical as to whether a new version is necessary.

“The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not 'Casablanca', or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book,” he said.
The film also stars Gabrielle Wilde, 'The Descendants' Judy Greer and Australian star of 'Chronicle', Alex Russell.
It's due out on October 18.
