    There was good news for Gary Oldman after the 2012 Oscar nominations were announced.


    Smiles better... Gary Oldman got a Oscar nod

    The British thesp was not considered a dead cert for ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ after missing out on a Golden Globe nomination, but he was given a nod for Best Actor.

    There was disappointment for fellow Brit Tilda Swinton though, who missed out for ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin’.

    Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo' got the most nominations with 11, while Best Picture favourite 'The Artist' got 10. Here's the full list of nominations:
