Pork Chop Hill (1959) 

In the last days of the Korean War, an American Lieutenant is given the perplexing order of using his men to take an inconsequential little hill from the Chinese. It soon becomes a needless slaughter of American lives, and their poor leader tires valiantly to keep going, even as his men are being picked off one after another.
