Paquin, Page and Ashmore for new X-Men movie

Three new/old castmembers join the Bryan Singer sequel

Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore are all to reprise their 'X-Men' roles for new instalment 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.

Director Bryan Singer used his adopted method of communication Twitter to make the announcement, as he has previously in letting fans know about Hugh Jackman's appointment to the cast.

“Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen #DaysofFuturePast - thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!” he said.

Paquin will reprise her role as Rogue, having played her through the first three 'X-Men' films, while Ashmore plays Iceman, aka Bobby Drake, for the fourth time too.

Meanwhile, Ellen Page will play Kitty Pryde, aka Shadowcat, once more after turning up in 'X-Men: The Last Stand', having taken over from Katie Stuart and Sumela Kay in 'X2' and 'X-Men' respectively.

It's thought that Page's Kitty Pryde will have a key role in 'Days of Future Past', as per the original comic book plot, which flips between alternate realities.

They join an already bulging cast role call, including Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as Magneto and Xavier, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven and Sir Ian McKellen as the older Magneto.
