Anna Paquin and Ellen Page are both set to return to the X-Men fold.
The Canadian actresses appeared in the original trilogy - with Anna in all three films and Ellen in the third instalment - and will now be back for next year's X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the follow-up to the prequel X-Men: First Class.
Anna, who recently gave birth to twins, will be back as mutant Rogue, while Ellen will reprise the role of Kitty Pryde. Shawn Ashmore, who played Bobby Drake aka Iceman, has also signed up for the new movie.
Director Bryan Singer tweeted the news and jokingly thanked fellow filmmaker Brett Ratner for not killing off the trio of characters when he was at the helm of the franchise.
"Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen #DaysofFuturePast - thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!" he said.
It was recently reported that Hugh Jackman might reprise his Wolverine role in the X-Men sequel. The Australian star popped up briefly in X-Men: First Class and it seems he could be making another cameo in the new film.
Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence are also expected to return.
The movie is set to start shooting soon as the film is due to be released on July 18, 2014.
