Patrick Stewart marries, while McKellen officiates

Sir Patrick Stewart has married his fiancée, the jazz singer Sunny Ozell, in a ceremony over the weekend, it has been revealed.

Best of all, perhaps, is the fact that the actor who plays Professor X in the 'X-Men' movies let Magneto, his mortal enemy, do the honours.

Sir Ian McKellen was ordained for the job, and presided over the marriage ceremony.

Stewart tweeted news of his nuptials on Twitter with a picture of himself and his bride immersed in a ball pool, accompanied by the simple message: “Yes, married.”

McKellen, meanwhile, took to Facebook, posting a picture of himself with his 'Doctor of Divinity' certificate and a t-shirt emblazoned with 'Minister'.

“I did my part,” he added, simply.

Stewart, 73, has been dating Ozell, 35, for five years, after meeting her at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The lovebirds recently posted a cosy video on YouTube of Stewart tutoring his former bride-to-be in the art of the 'quadruple take'.
