Peter Jackson films Hobbit sequel cast reacting to crazy fans

Director replies to fan reaction vid with ‘cast reaction’.

Peter Jackson films Hobbit sequel cast reacting to crazy fans

Director Peter Jackson has gone meta - filming the cast of ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’ watching a homemade video of two excited fans reacting to the new trailer for the same movie. Confusing, right? Let’s explain…

Jackson first spotted a “fan reaction” video online, and posted it on his official Facebook page. The clip showed sisters Kelli and Alex, who run their own ‘Lord Of The Rings’ web series ‘Happy Hobbit’, Oh my God-ing along to the live trailer for ‘The Desolation Of Smaug’, released yesterday.

"This is pretty cute,” Jackson told his 850,000 fans, “a video of two fans watching the live release of our new trailer. Check it out!"

Then just a few hours later, the director returned to Facebook with a hastily made (and very sweet) “sequel” - featuring actual ‘Hobbit’ cast members Evangeline Lilly (Tauriel), Orlando Bloom (Legolas) and Lee Pace (Thranduil) reacting to the fan reaction in full Elven costume. A “cast reaction”, if you will?

“And here's what I guess you'd call a sequel to that fan video. Enjoy!” Jackson commented with the video.

Sisters Kellie and Alex, (also known as Kili and Fili after the ‘Hobbit’s’ own sibling stars), regularly post videos on all things ‘Rings’ to their YouTube Channel, as well as contribute to fan site TheOneRing.net.

If they thought the trailer was worthy of a dropped jaw, we cannot wait to see their reaction to this one….

We’ll keep you posted.

Production on ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’ is still underway in New Zealand. It's out in the UK 13 December 2013.
