Ummm What about transamerica... Felicity Huffman playing a pre op male to female transexual! Its an awesome film... It was nominated for 2 oscars and won a golden globe!?

I don't find Adam funny at the best of times. Cross dressing in films sometimes works well like Some Like It Hot, John Travolta in Hairspray. It comes over very naff if they use a real woman to play a male to female transexual role. Some people find cross dressing appalling when it's men dressed as women, but those same people probably don't give a second thought to the many women who are so dog rough they often get mistaken for a man.

Julie Andrews in Victor/Victoria.....perhaps not her best but surely worth a mention in this category.

Not too sure about movies, I loved Steve Coogan as Paul and Pauline Calf.

I must be slightly dyslexic, for a moment i thought the title read 'movie oral sex changes', and for another moment i thought yahoo had something worth reading!

The 10 films chosen are all in English, the vast majority of films are not. Kind Hearts and Coronets is great, and Jones in Life of Brian an excellent choice. Tilda Swinton in Orlando deserves a place. For transvestite comedies, Some Like it Hot is a must.

It's funny how the age changes, as a man he looks in his 30's but dressed as a women he looks as she is in her 50's :-)

The best transgender acting in my opinion was Vanessa Redgrave in the little known film Second Serve. She played the real life role of a man who became a woman (Dr Renee Richards), the first transgender tennis player to play in the US Open. The US Tennis Association tried to ban her but she took them to court and won her case to compete as a woman. Vanessa's acting was simply extraordinary in all 3 states, as a man, as a man inexpertly trying to look like a woman, and finally as a fully fledged woman following surgery. Check it out, you'll be amazed.
