Quentin Tarantino’s back with another revenge fantasy, this time set in the Deep South just before the abolition of slavery. Jamie Foxx is the ex-slave looking for his wife, killing dozens of “white folk” along the way, while Leonardo DiCaprio is surprisingly superb as the slimy, psychotic plantation owner. Tarantino’s obligatory cameo is both awful and brilliant.
