Retiring Soderbergh sells off memorabilia

Steven Soderbergh is auctioning off a wealth of memorabilia from his films to raise money for charity.

The director, who is poised to retire from the movie business, is having a clear-out and decided that money could be made from some of the more collectible items.

“I didn't want to throw this stuff away but I didn't want to keep it either, so I figured the smart play was to put it up for auction and donate the money to charity.

“If you have a friend, relative, or child that digs movies, maybe these items would make a great gift or a talisman of some sort.

“100% of all proceeds from this auction will be going to the Children's Aid Society of New York charity.”

Among the items on sale, ranging in price from a $100 (£66) starting bid, are a clapperboard from 'Erin Brockovich' (starting at $250) and framed 'Oceans 13' tickets for its premiere at Cannes starting at $600.
