Ryan Gosling to 'take a break' from acting
Drive star says he's lost perspective on what what he's doing.
Ryan Gosling has said that he is going to 'take a break' from acting.
The star of 'Drive' has recently wrapped the forthcoming untitled Terrence Malick film, but has now decided to put the brakes on his rocketing acting career.

“I've been doing it too much,” he told the Huffington Post. “I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it.
“And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does.”
He added that now he's getting the top roles, it's proved easier to take the wrong turn.
“The more opportunities I'm given, the more I learn about how easy it is to **** it up,” he added.
“You fight for freedom and then you get it, and then you have enough rope to hang yourself. It's like trying to exercise some restraint because I do have so much freedom.”
While Gosling's star has risen exponentially since his starring turn 'Drive' in 2011, the Canadian actor has been in the business of show since the age of 12, when he was recruited for the Disney Channel's 'Mickey Mouse Club', alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Following 'Drive', he took top roles in films like 'The Ides of March' with George Clooney, 'Gangster Squad' with Josh Brolin and Sean Penn.

He's also starred in 'Drive' director Nicolas Winding Refn's next film, the Bangkok-shot 'Only God Forgives', due out in the US at the end of the month.
He follows Leonardo DiCaprio who announced earlier this year that he was planning to take 'a long break' from acting.
“I am a bit drained. I'm now going to take a long, long break. I've done three films in two years and I'm just worn out,” DiCaprio told German newspaper Bild.
“I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment. My roof is covered with solar panels," he added. “My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 50 kilometres (31 miles) a day. That can be done with a plug.”
