It's a case of been there, Saw that for this particular horror franchise but it's formulaic simplicity is much of its appeal. So, again you can expect the emphasis to be on great effects, twists and gore rather than time spent on plot and dialogue development.
And then there's Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), who's become one of the most popular scary characters in the genre.
This third instalment has Jigsaw on his death bed, but drawing a doctor (Bahar Soomekh) and Jeff (Angus MacFayden) into another of his deadly games. The kidnapped doctor has to keep the maniac alive long enough for him to witness Jeff's desperate attempts to overcome the vicious obstacles Jigsaw's apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith) has placed in his path.
However, the evil pair have something more terrifying in store for the hapless captives than dealing with a few Jigsaw puzzles.
