This tale of an ambitious little fish voiced by Will Smith and a vegetarian shark (Jack Black) was a triumph for Dreamworks at the box office, not least because it also starred Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, Martin Scorsese and Renee Zellweger .
Lenny the Great White is a bit of a lost soul. Sensitive, friendly and, worst of all, a vegetarian, he just doesn't fit in with his Cod father-type dad (Robert De Niro) and brother. Oscar (Smith), meanwhile, is a fast-talking fish with dreams he'll never realise as long as he keeps working at the whale wash. However, events conspire to bring these unlikely allies together in a mutually beneficial agreement - until the rest of the sharks decide to avenge a lost son, that is.
Not only does the movie look great (if not quite Finding Nemo), but it's lots of fun for both kids and parents (witness the gangster sharks' abode - the Titanic complete with Kate Winslet picture). What's more, the soundtrack isn't the sort of MOR balladry you'd normally associate with animated films. Instead it features contemporary R&B, with cameo cartoon appearances from Missy Elliott and Christina Aguilera.
Extras include a behind-the-scenes documentary during which you see the glittering talent doing their thing behind the microphones; a soundtrack featurette with the likes of Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott; a gag-reel; and director's commentary.
