Another week another horror film. This time we follow a group of US teenagers who suffer a bad 'trip' after eating some magic mushrooms on a visit to Ireland.
The crux of the film hinges on whether they are really being pursed by creepy creatures or whether it is just the drugs playing with their minds. If hardly an innovative plot device at least it offers something different from the normal horror films that are either drenched in gore, bland remakes of far superior Japanese ones or played for laughs.
The pacing of the movie is a mess - but there a couple of neat sequences that impress including an inventive take on the camp fire story scene which is a common slasher film motif.
At its heart though it's a typical low budget horror film, so expect plenty of bad acting, cheap effects and teen totty. If that is your thing then there is enough to enjoy here - if not, then this is one trip you shouldn't be going on.
