I couldn't wait to see this film, but as with many movies released recently, I was very disappointed!
New boy Brandon Routh playing Superman was ok (Christopher Reeves' twin or what?), Kev Spacey as Lex inspired, but Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane? Really? And how did she manage to go through the entire film, getting beat across the screen, and never with so much as a mark!?! If I was thrown around an airplane, whacked with a large paperweight, smacked on the head by a 10" thick door and managed to be still alive I would be happy. But she is unscathed throughout! I think she may be a little bit 'super' herself!
I did think of a few other plot holes whilst watching this seemingly never-ending movie too.
1-What was Lex thinking? What can you grow on crystalized land? Why would you want to make an entire continent that can't sustain life? A small point I'm sure!
2-Does cryptonite kill/harm Superman or not? If he's got a fairly large chunk of it in him (removed on the operating table) will he not lose his powers? Apparently not, as he still manages to fly, move vast peices of land, survive a fall from outer-space, etc...
3-The return of Superman coinciding with the return of Clark Kent. Even when the suggestion is made that they may be one and the same, no-one pays any attention! Lois is supposed to be an award winning jounalist for pete's sake!
There are more but I am trying to remove them from my mind, sorry!
It is obvious that there will be a sequel to this film, I just pray that it is thought about a little bit more!
