Although Nick Fury is busy fending off the feds in 'Captain America 2', it seems that Samuel L. Jackson is interested in Marvel's all-new TV show…
Since the announcement of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' we've all been wondering whether our favourite one-eyed spymaster would make a cameo somewhere down the line. And it seems that Samuel L. Jackson has been wondering the same thing. The legendary actor has recently been filming scenes for 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'… but it seems he's not too busy to chime in on whether Nick Fury should appear in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
In an interview with Vulture, Samuel L. Jackson reveals he wants to be in 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' and might have some ideas on how to make that happen…
"If I was going to do S.H.I.E.L.D. I'd like to be - you know Charlie's voice on Charlie's Angels? That would be perfect. Because everybody recognizes my voice. That would be good enough for me. And I told Joss that."
If Samuel L. Jackson has his way, this could mean that Nick Fury is heard but not seen… and I have to admit, that's a pretty good idea. I mean, let's face it - after signing a nine movie deal with Marvel, I'm just not sure how keen they'd be to let him out of their sights… even when it comes to their own TV series. But a voiceover part that he could literally phone in? That certainly sounds a lot more feasible. But will it actually happen?
"I don't know. [Joss Whedon] can't hire me, I guess. Disney, Marvel… we'll see what they think. It would legitimize the show in another way. It's like the same thing with Star Wars - I want to be in that too. Bring Mace Windu back!"
Obviously, he's bang on the money there - no matter how much Joss Whedon might want him to be involved, it's up to Marvel and Disney when it comes to the final say. Of course, while Jackson is currently super-busy with 'Captain America', there's nothing to stop him from turning up in an actual on-screen cameo somewhere down the line. And if you ask me, it's something Marvel has to consider. After all, it just wouldn't be S.H.I.E.L.D. without Nick Fury.
Will you be watching 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D'? Do you think Nick Fury should appear?
