Rust And Bone star Matthias Schoenaerts is in talks to star opposite Michelle Williams and Kristin Scott Thomas in period drama Suite Francaise.
The Belgian hunk - who has burst into the spotlight starring opposite Marion Cotillard in Jacques Audiard's love story Rust And Bone - will play a German officer in the film, The Daily Mail reports.
The Duchess's Saul Dibb has adapted Irene Nemirovsky's best-selling novel Suite Francaise and will direct the film set in German-occupied France.
The story follows a German officer posted at the home of a young French woman, played by Michelle, and her mother-in-law, played by Kristin.
The film is due to begin shooting on location in Hungary next year.
