Spring Breakers cast: James Franco’s transformation was mind blowing

The cast of ‘Spring Breakers’ have been talking about their experience of making the movie, including co-star James Franco’s intimidating turn as shady rapper Alien.

“We were all taken aback,” says Rachel Korine, “I mean his transformation was mind blowing. He really embodied this character.

“He has this darkness but he also has this charm that is just captivating.”

Not sure if she’s on about James Franco or his character there…

In the exclusive interview with Yahoo! Movies, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez, also spoke about the four young actress’ relationship on-set, revealing how close they became: “Once we all came together and Harmony (Korine, the director) got the girls, it was really just us rehearsing - getting to know each other and really becoming best friends,” explained Gomez.

Vanessa Hudgens added: “The first moment that we were like ‘Wow this is happening!’ was our first day. Being behind the camera, really just playing off of each other and seeing how fun and how easy it was to work with one another.

“That’s when we said ‘OK, we’re gonna do something really special here.’”
