Steve Coogan and Judi Dench in new Philomena poster

Fresh off ‘Alpha Papa’ success, Steve Coogan is playing down the Partridge in upcoming hard-hitting heart-warmer ‘Philomena’ – and we’ve got hold of a brand new poster, below.

‘Philomena’ tells the real-life story of a woman, played by Dame Judi Dench, searching for her lost son 50 years after she was forced to give him up for adoption by the Catholic church.

Coogan comes on board as world weary political journalist Martin Sixsmith, who wanted to write the story of the search, but ended up helping Philomena in her world-wide quest for closure.

Directed by ‘My Beautiful Launderette’ and ‘The Queen’ maker Stephen Frears, expect this to be a great big pat on the back for British cinema.
