Synopsis

Matt is looking for love but encounters only betrayal, lust and loneliness.

His entire world turns upside down when his long-term girlfriend, Deborah, leaves him to go to New York. The repercussions are extensive, affecting everyone around him. Vinnie and Susie, his closest friends, seem to be the perfect couple and try in vain to cheer him up. They offer him all kinds of advice on "getting over it." His other friends, who consider themselves experts on matters relating to women, attempt to teach Matt the art of flirting. Matt soon gives in to their collective wisdom, and embarks on a series of disastrous liaisons with women he doesn't understand. To make matters worse, Vinnie and Susie's

relationship becomes more and more strained, reinforcing Matt's notion of the perplexing nature of love. Matt returns to his single life--serving coffee to customers at an Internet cafe, until he finds someone who appears to be a perfect replacement for Deborah--a sophisticated French girl he meets on the train. Ultimately, Matt's misunderstanding of the opposite sex gets him into a lot of trouble and he has to learn to fight for the heart of the woman he loves.
