Brits make it big in the States


Simon Bird and the rest of ‘The Inbetweeners’ cast are heading across the pond, as the British movie spinoff from the TV show has been picked up for an American release.

Wrekin Hill Entertainment have picked up the film for distribution, and is planning on releasing the film for US audiences in the spring.

Meanwhile, MTV are currently adapting the show for an American series, after the success of their recent original TV shows ‘Teen Wolf’ and ‘Awkward’.

‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ made around £45million in the UK on the back of the TV series, Wrekin Hill are said to be marketing the film starring Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas as a British ‘American Pie’. Iain Morris and Damon Beesley exec produced and wrote the script.

We’ll have to wait and see what the US makes of ‘The Inbetweeners’.
