Tom Hanks: reincarnate me as a microwave

‘Cloud Atlas’ star Tom Hanks wants to be reincarnated as a microwave oven, apparently.

The film features multiple stories set across different time periods, with the same actors playing different roles in each.

Yahoo! Movies paid homage to this (sort off) by asking the cast what person, object or animal they’d like to return as. Hanks gave the most mystifying answer.

“A microwave oven. It’s very helpful. You can tell the time. You can heat your food. I think it’d be a very good appliance to be,” he said.

Tom Tykwer would return as one of his co-directors – the Wachowski siblings, because he “likes their parents”.

Hugo Weaving fancies being a tree, while James D’Arcy would be a kestrel handler. But why? Check out the slightly weird footage above.
