UK internet firms block more pirate movie sites

Court order won to block access to Movie2K and Download4All

The leading UK internet firms have begun blocking more sites which allow access to pirated movies.

The action comes after the Motion Picture Association won a court order to have access to the Movie2K and Download4All sites barred.

BT, Virgin, Talk Talk, Sky and EE have all complied with the court order, though it's reported that Movie2K have already created a duplicate site which can still be accessed.

Both the sites allowed users to download and stream movies that had been ripped from DVD copies of films.

There are now six sites that have been officially blocked by the UK internet service providers for breaching copyright laws, due to court orders by the MPA, the UK arm of the Motion Picture Association of America, and the British Phonographic Industry.

Among them are Kick Ass Torrents, H33T, Fenopy and The Pirate Bay.

More sites which breach copyright are said to be in the sights of the BPI and MPA as the crackdown on illegal downloading of both film and music content increases its pace.
