US astrophysicist takes down Gravity

Neil deGrasse Tyson spots the flaws in the new movie.

It might have already broken release weekend records. It might have had rave reviews from the critics. James Cameron might have called it 'the best space film ever'.

But now Alfonso Cuaron's 'Gravity' has a voice of much-needed dissent.

And what a thorough voice it is...

US astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson has taken to his Twitter account to point out a few of the inaccuracies from the forthcoming George Clooney/Sandra Bullock movie.

It appears that there are a lot of them.

In a tirade of 20 separate tweets, many dubbed 'Mysteries of #Gravity', deGrasse Tyson, a regular on US TV shows like 'The Daily Show' and 'The Colbert Report', questions 'why anyone is impressed with a zero-G film 45 years after being impressed with 2001: A Space Odyssey'.

He also questions the movement of Sandra Bullock's hair.

Here they are in full. Prepare to alarmed by his attention to detail.

He did relent at one point, however, adding:

The film is due out in the UK on November 8 in the UK and November 11 in Ireland.
