Video gold: Arnold Schwarzenegger rides tiny toy horse

We don’t know why this video works, but it does. It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger… on a teeny-tiny toy horse.

He was apparently visiting the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas this weekend (of course he was) when he spotted a toy horse for sale.

Someone asked if he could ride it, so he mounted the unfortunate mechanical critter and had a pal film the whole sorry episode.

It’s the look of genuine pleasure on his face - mixed with the baffled laughter of his audience - that we enjoyed the most. One onlooker simply mutters: “Jesus”.

The video has quickly racked up more than 60,000 views on YouTube in a matter of hours.

Remember though readers, it’s not the first time Arnie has posed with a horse.

Schwarzenegger has surprisingly become of a master of the viral video in the twilight of his career.

The Austrian Oak re-recorded some of his classic lines back in October after he took part in an "ask me anything" session for the website Reddit. The internet loved it.

He filmed himself crushing an old car in his M47 tank to plug ‘The Last Stand’ - our journalist attending the event said “you could still smell Schwarzenegger’s cigar smoke above the exhaust”.

He also ran a competition to promote his memoirs (titled ‘Total Recall’) where the winner won a personalised voice mail from the great man. See below for the winning entry.

It just goes to show that even though Arnie’s box office prowess may be waning (his post-Governorship projects have mostly flopped), he’s more popular with bored people on the internet than ever.
