A dog and dolphin strike up a friendship, which helps propel the dog's owner (Steve Guttenberg) and the marine biologist studying Roxanne (Kathleen Quinlan), single parents both, into a romance. The result is a harmless if sticky contrivance you wouldn't want to see unaccompanied by a small child.
