The Golden Bear at the 63rd Berlinale was awarded to Romanian director Calin Peter Netzer for his film 'Child's Pose.'

The film is a social drama about a rich woman trying to save her irresponsible son from prison after he accidentally kills a child while speeding.

Netzer's movie was one amongst several wins for Eastern European films at this year's Berlinale.

Danis Tanovic's Bosnian 'An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker' won the Jury Grand Prix as well as the Silver Bear for actor for Nazif Mujic while cinematographer Aziz Zhambakiyev took the Silver Bear for Artistic Achievement for Kazakh drama 'Harmony Lessons.'

Meanwhile the only win for a U.S. pic went to David Gordon Green who received the Silver Bear for director for 'Prince Avalanche' which stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch.
