10 movie stars from the 90s who look totally different today
- 1/10
Val Kilmer: There were few actors sexier than Kilmer during the 1990s, with his lustrous quiff and beestung lips playing everything from Batman to the Saint. Now 56, the star still has plenty of charisma, but let’s just say he’s officially gone from leading man to character actor.
- 2/10
Steven Seagal: It’s hard to reconcile the bloke on the right-hand side of this photo with the svelte, ass-kicking martial artist who became a superstar after the release of ‘Under Siege’ in 1992. Anyone who’s seen his more recent efforts will know that the energetic fight scenes have become somewhat more…puffy (but that’s not to say he couldn’t still kill you with his bare hands).
- 3/10
Melanie Griffith: Mel’s unnecessary battle with the results of Father Time is fairly well-documented. Unfortunately, it means that the scrappy sensuousness of her previous screen incarnation is all but gone forever.

Mike Myers: Myers has pulled a Tom Jones and finally ditched the Just For Men. The result is distinguished, though might make have to make the subtitle of the next Austin Powers movie Silver Fox.
- 5/10
John Travolta: Frequent readers of the site will know our obsession with Travolta’s hirsute variations, which fluctuate as wildly as a bad auditionee’s voice on ‘The X Factor’ and generate just as much amusement.
- 6/10
Haley Joel Osment: Making the transition from child to adult star is notoriously tricky, but ‘Sixth Sense’ actor Osment has gone about it the right way – by looking nothing like the kid who could see dead people.

Edward Furlong: The ‘Terminator 2’ star could have been a contender thanks to his role in the Arnie sequel and the brilliant 1998 drama ‘American History X’. Sadly drugs, relationship issues and problems with the law put something of a kibosh on his ascent and no doubt contributed to his current look.
- 8/10
Lara Flynn Boyle: With roles in ‘Wayne’s World’ and 1994’s ‘Threesome’, as well as her breakout in ‘Twin Peaks’, Boyle’s career seemed to be on the up-and-up during the 1990s. Sadly her career never took off as we’d have hoped.
- 9/10
James Spader: Kudos to the ever-awesome Spader not giving an actorly toss about losing that unruly mane as seen in ‘Stargate’, ‘White Palace’ and ‘Crash’, even though these days he does often rock a wicked fedora.

Jeff Goldblum: We love the Goldblum – which is why it’s slightly disconcerting to see him turn officially into someone’s grandpa. But then he is 63. At least the mullet’s history.
