Ahead of Spiral's launch next month, it's reported that the series is actively working on another movie after that – more than 15 years after the first film changed the horror landscape back in 2004.
Following initial reports that James Wan's production company Atomic Monster was directly involved behind-the-scenes, Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that co-creator Wan will not return as "an active participant".
Still, you can expect Saw X to be a doozy. It is a milestone, after all.
In other Saw news, the series' ninth movie recently confirmed that it will open in cinemas earlier than expected, after being originally scheduled for a late-May release.
Spiral – which will not serve as a Jigsaw sequel – follows Chris Rock as a detective on the hunt for a killer targeting cops and with a potential link to the Jigsaw Killer.
"Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran, brash Detective Ezekiel 'Zeke' Banks and his rookie partner take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past," the official synopsis reads.
"Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the centre of the killer's morbid game."
Spiral: From the Book of Saw is now due to open on May 14 in the US and May 17 in the UK.
