2023 Davis Cup Countries, Predictions

The Davis Cup Finals Group Stage features 16 national teams playing across four European cities, with the chance to qualify for the Davis Cup Finals in November. Canada is the defending Davis Cup champion though they are missing some of their top players this year.

The U.S. has won the Davis Cup a record 32 times and is considered by many to be the favorite this year. Team USA is led by world No. 11 Frances Tiafoe, and the resurgent Tommy Paul, who made it to the fourth round of the U.S. Open this year.

Among the other Davis Cup favorites: oddsmakers like Italy and Spain, who both received wild cards to this year’s tournament. The other countries are Australia, Chile, Croatia, Czechia, Finland, France, Great Britain, South Korea, Netherlands, Serbia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Known as the “World Cup of Men’s Tennis,” the Davis Cup has been played since 1900. The countries are split into four groups with a round-robin format for this group stage. The top two teams in each group will advance to the final round of the Davis Cup — known as the “Final 8” — this November in Malaga, Spain.
