Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio:
Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes didn’t exactly see eye to eye by the time ‘Romeo & Juliet’ finished filming. Danes grew tired of DiCaprio’s onset pranks, branding him “immature”, whilst he found her uptight and prudish. Not exactly star-crossed lovers. Danes recently turned down a part in ‘J. Edgar’ because she didn’t want to work with Leo again.

Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy:
In a revealing interview Theron said she feuded with her co-star: “Maybe the movie is what it is because we struggled so much with each other, and those characters had to struggle so much with each other. If we were chum-chum, maybe the movie would have been 10 times worse.” She added: “From what I hear, he’s not like that on every movie—I hear he’s had good experiences.”

Sir Anthony Hopkins and Shirley MacLaine:
Anthony Hopkins thought the boisterous Shirley MacLaine was overbearing and was constantly annoyed with her while filming ‘A Change of Seasons’ in 1980. When asked what she was like, he fumed “she was the most obnoxious actress I have ever worked with.“ Don’t sugarcoat it Ant!

Bill Murray and Lucy Liu:
Comedy actor Bill Murray couldn’t even raise a smile whilst filming ‘Charlie’s Angels’, as he took a serious dislike to Lucy Liu. It was rumored that Murray thought Liu had an out-of-control ego and he refused to make any appearances in support of the movie when it came out in 2000. He also turned down reprising the role in the sequel, ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle’. In retrospect a good call.

Charlie Sheen and Sean Young:
Determined that she should’ve been cast in Darryl Hannah’s role, Sean Young began an on-set campaign for the part even after filming had begun. Lead actor Charlie Sheen eventually became so fed up of Young’s behaviour he taped a sign to her back that read: "I am a c***,” leaving the actress to wander around the set for hours before noticing the note.

George Clooney and David O Russell:
Russell, known to be difficult to work with, apparently riled Clooney on the set of 'Three Kings’ with his treatment of the crew. When Clooney stepped in to confront Russell about his behaviour, Russell reportedly goaded Clooney into fighting him. Which he did. Clooney later called the filming 'truly, without exception, the worst experience of my life’.

Josh Hartnett and Harrison Ford:
The legendary Harrison Ford didn’t take too kindly to whippersnapper Josh Hartnett on the set of ‘Hollywood Homicide’. Ford reportedly referred to Harnett as a “punk”, with the young actor retaliating by calling the veteran “an old fart”. As a result the pair barely made eye contact during filming and continuously picked on each other at press junkets. The film flopped.

Mark Walhberg and Leonardo DiCaprio:
Mark Wahlberg admitted he used to have a beef with his 'Basketball Diaries’ co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed that Leo wasn’t too keen on his casting. “Leonardo was like, 'Over my dead f***ing body. Marky Mark’s not going to be in this f***ing movie’,” Wahlberg recalls. “We’d had a thing - I didn’t even realise it, [but] I was a bit of a d*** to him at a charity basketball game. So he was like, 'This f***ing asshole is not going to be in this movie.’”

Michael Bay and Megan Fox:
Megan Fox shot herself in the foot when she slammed ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ director Michael Bay for focusing on special effects and not acting. Bay responded with; “That’s Megan Fox for you. She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do. You roll your eyes when you see statements like that”. He then didn’t cast her in the next ‘Transformers’ film. Whoops.

Peter Sellers and Orson Welles:
Sellers was said to be intimidated by Welles, while Welles saw Sellers as a clown for his predominantly comedic on-screen antics. When the pair had to star in the same film together, 1967’s Bond spoof 'Casino Royale’, they couldn’t stand to be in the same room. This meant they had to film the scene they shared separately, each opposite a dummy, with the performances then being stitched together in the editing suite.

Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams:
Nick Cassavettes says the stars had the daggers out for from day one. Gosling asked the director to bring in another actress to feed his lines, which Cassavettes righfully declined to do. “We went into a room with a producer; they started screaming and yelling at each other,” he says. They made up eventually and went on to date for a few years. Maybe shouting was their preferred method of flirting?

Tom Sizemore and Val Kilmer:
This feud during filming of ‘Red Planet’ began when Kilmer got annoyed over a fancy exercise machine Sizemore demanded the production ship from England to the set in Australia. Eventually the two hated each other so much Kilmer would reportedly not come out of his trailer if Tom was on the set. Many of their scenes together were even filmed over shoulders of photo doubles, if we are to believe some reports.

Klaus Kinski and Werner Herzog:
“We had a great love,” said director Herzog of actor Kinski. “But both of us planned to murder each other.” He didn’t mean this figuratively either. Kinski’s life was saved by his dog, who attacked Herzog as he was creeping up to set Kinski’s house on fire. Herzog also pulled a gun on Kinski during the filming of 'Aguirre, Wrath Of God’, saying he would shoot him and then himself after Kinski threatened to walk out.
