The famous bench from ‘500 Days of Summer’ has been closed off to the public due to cutbacks in the state of California.

Since ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ director Marc Webb’s debut in 2009 the spot has been a popular tourist attraction, but the Community Redevelopment Agency can no longer maintain the area.

Located in downtown Los Angeles, the bench, located in a small park called Angel’s Knoll, is where the films’ stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel filmed some of the romantic comedy’s pivotal scenes.

Director Marc Webb gave his comments to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: "I don't know enough about civic agencies, and God knows budgets are difficult things to manage -- and, let's be honest, maybe there are better things to spend money on.

“But you know what? I'll miss my bench."

Webb recently finished filming ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, and is currently in post-production working towards the film’s release next summer.
