Benedict Cumberbatch is "unbelievable" in Star Trek Into Darkness, director JJ Abrams has revealed.
The British actor plays a villain, known as John Harrison, in the sci-fi sequel, although details about his character have been kept under wraps, but JJ teased at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that fans of the upcoming movie will not be disappointed, reported Collider.
"I just can't wait for people to see the movie. Benedict is unbelievable," the filmmaker said.
"I not only love him in the movie, but I love him as a human being. He's an amazing guy. I can't wait for people to see the movie and experience what he's done."
JJ praised Benedict for joining and becoming part of the "family" with the returning cast members such as Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Simon Pegg.
"It's a tall order, coming into that movie, because the crew of the Enterprise - that cast - is so damn good and they're wonderful to work with and they're all good hearts. So, to come into that group, as he did, as Alice Eve did and as Peter Weller did, and be one of the family was something that I was doubtful could happen. And he completely did it," he added.
