Batman has been on the collective mind this week after reports claimed Robert Pattinson could be playing the DC hero next.

This year also marked the 80th anniversary of the Caped Crusader and now new research has been conducted to find the hidden numbers behind the actors who have played him.

The investigation was conducted by Vanquis, who have worked out which onscreen Batman is the most violent, deadliest, effective and prepared in the world of Gotham, based on each actor’s cinematic outings as the hero.

Based on individual films, Ben Affleck’s Batman was the most violent as he beat up 48 villains in Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice which works out at a punch every 3 minutes of the 151 minute movie.

Though when you include police officers, Bale’s Batman ties with Batfleck as he knocked out 44 bad guys and four cops in Batman Begins.

In the entire Dark Knight trilogy, Bale’s Batman gives 18 police officers a beating and he’s actually the only movie iteration of the hero to fight with Gotham’s Finest.

It’s no wonder then that Bale’s Caped Crusader is the deadliest too. He has the highest body count for one movie after killing 25 League of Shadow warriors through unintended arson at Wayne Manor in Batman Begins.

Though if you combine film appearances then Batfleck is the deadliest as he takes the lives of approximately 39 villains across two movies.

Val Kilmer and George Clooney are the only versions to not take a life.

Adam West’s Batman was the most effective as he managed to apprehend four supervillains over the course of 104-minute in his 1966 feature film.

When accounting for sequels, Christian Bale’s Batman becomes the most effective as he brings to justice seven baddies across The Dark Knight Trilogy.

The most prepared Batman was Adam West as he used the 11 gadgets and four vehicles in the 1966 film, the most used by a Batman in a single film.

The British actor, known for his roles in The Twilight Saga, High Life and Cosmopolis, is up for the role, reportedly against Nicholas Hoult, after Affleck parted ways with the film.

It's thought that one possible plot could be based on the comic book strand Under The Red Hood, which dealt with the death of Jason Todd, Batman’s Robin, at the hands of the Joker.

This incident is alluded to in Dawn of Justice (then confirmed in Suicide Squad), while an Under The Red Hood animated movie emerged from Warner Bros in 2010.
