Singer Adele has reportedly finalised her divorce from charity boss Simon Konecki to bring an end to their five-year marriage.

The 32-year-old Someone Like You star split amicably from Mr Konecki in April 2019, but the divorce has taken two years to finalise due to talks over finances.

The settlement was filed with a Los Angeles court last month and was signed off by a judge yesterday, according to US Weekly magazine.

The former couple have already agreed to share custody of their eight-year-old son Angelo, and will divide up an estimated £140 million fortune.

Adele started dating Mr Konecki in 2011, and they kept details of their relationship away from the public eye.

In 2015 she told an American talk show she had “never been happier”, saying of Mr Konecki: “Being in such an amazing relationship with someone that’s so there for me and so loyal and is really part of my core now, that’s what made me write about everything I’ve ever done, because I’ve got his love.”

During their relationship, they split their time between a mansion in Los Angeles, properties in Kensington, and another home in Brighton.

Former Etonian Mr Konecki worked as a foreign exchange broker before establishing Drop4Drop, a charity which helps to provide clean water to countries around the world.

Rumours of a split were confirmed when Mr Konecki turned up alone to the 2019 Brit Awards without Adele.

The singer and her former spouse represented themselves in the divorce case but opted to use mediators to reach the final financial settlement, said to include an assessment of a £34.7 million property portfolio.

The Grammy award winner first filed for divorce in 2019, five months after their split was revealed to the world, and in April last year she successful applied to the court to keep details of the case private.

When they first split, a representative for the singer said: “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.”

Adele has not commented on today’s news.
