AJ Odudu has joked her "direct messages are dry" since she joined 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The 33-year-old star - who has made it to this weekend's semi-finals alongside her pro partner Kai Widdrington - insisted she hasn't had a single "potential suitor" since she first appeared on the BBC Latin and ballroom competition.

She told The Sun newspaper: "Oh my gosh, my director messages are dry. I've not had one direct message from a potential suitor, that is not happening."

AJ suggested her intense performances with Kai on the dancefloor could be making people think twice about their own chances.

She quipped: "He's witnessed me wrap my legs around Kai every single week!"

Meanwhile, the TV presenter heaped praise on Kai as she insisted he'll "be in [her] life forever".

She said: "Kai's funny, he's kind, he's patient and he's going to be in my life forever. WE just have the best time.

"He's a family man, he's someone who takes care of his family, his friends. He's a real gentleman. He really, really is.

"And I think that's what's beautiful about him as well. I feel like we share the same ethics, in the same way that I'm speaking to my mum before the show, he's got his mum and dad on FaceTime and his granddad before the show, his brother."

And AJ revealed how her dance partner has given her a confidence boost on the ballroom floor.

She added: "Sometimes I feel really demure and classic and sometimes I feel really hot and sexy and sometime I just feel really fun and free.

"It just all depends on the mood of the dance, and that's one of the greatest things I've enjoyed."

On Saturday evening (11.12.21), AJ and Kai - who were saved by the judges last weekend when they found themselves in the dance-off against Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova - will do the Quickstep to Benny Goodman's 'Sing, Sing, Sing', and a Rumba set to Maria McKee's 'Show Me Heaven'.
