Alan Carr tells Strictly bosses to give him a call over show appearance
Alan Carr has issued a come-and-get-me plea to 'Strictly Come Dancing' bosses.
The 46-year-old comedian has urged producers to give him a ring about taking part in the Latin and ballroom show, after showing off some moves to former 'Strictly' pro Flavia Cacace and her husband Jimi Mistry.
After showing off his dancing talents to the couple - who met on the BBC show - on a new episode of his 'Epic Game Show', which airs on Saturday night (18.06.22), Flavia tells Alan: "That was really very good."
Jimi adds: "You are very good."
According to the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV Column, Alan then says: "'Strictly' producers - call me.
"You might have a new Ann Widdecombe on your hands."
Alan previously admitted he was worried he would be compared to politician Ann - who took part in the show in 2010 - if he went on 'Strictly'.
Speaking to comedian David Walliams - who suggested they could pair up on the dancefloor - last year, he said: "I need to lose weight - one of us has to be a dancer.
"I went to Buenos Aires and said, 'When I go home, I am going to learn how to tango.'
"I wanted to be sexy but I know I'll be the Ann Widdecombe - the one dragged around the floor dressed as a matador."
'Britain's Got Talent' judge David jokingly insisted he is a dancer, but Alan quipped: "Oh please. The 'Birdie Song' doesn't count."
David paid tribute to Strictly's 2020 winner Bill Bailey, who took home the Glitterball Trophy with Oti Mabuse.
He added: "Bill set the bar high. Whenever I dance, people laugh - even when I am not trying to make people laugh.
"I have to pretend it's a joke."
