ALF Star Michu Meszaros Fighting For Life After Slipping Into Coma

Michu Meszaros, the two-foot, nine-inch (84cm) star who played ALF in the hit 80s TV show, is fighting for his life after slipping into a coma.

The 79-year-old actor was found unconscious on his bathroom floor, his manager Dennis Varga told US site TMZ.

He has suffered health problems following a stroke eight years ago.

According to reports, the Hungarian-born star has given strict instructions not to have his life-support machines turned off if condition fails to improve.

Meszaros played the ‘alien life form’ in the NBC sci-fi comedy, which ran from 1986 to 1990.

He would wear the alien suit for full body shots, but just the top half for most of the scenes, due to the excessive heat it would generate.

Originally a circus performer, dubbed 'the smallest man in the world’, he was part of the famous Barnum & Bailey circus, as well as the Ringling Bros.

He also appeared in movies like 'Waxwork’, 'Big Top Pee Wee’ and 'Look Who’s Talking’.

His last role was in 'Warlock: The Armageddon’ in 1993.

At the height of his fame in the 1980s, the city of Hawthorne in California named its shortest street Michu Lane in his honour.
