All the Disney Investor Marvel TV announcements: From Loki to She-Hulk

Though the coronavirus has set phase four back, the crew at Marvel clearly haven't been eating biscuits and watching Netflix like everyone else.

Via the bafflingly massive announcements coming from yesterday's Disney investors event, it looks like the small screen is getting just as much attention as Marvel's tentpole movies.

Here are all the highlights from the wacky world of spandex...

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier launch date

The legacy of Captain America, specifically his shield and the mantle that goes with it, with continue in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Currently wrapping up production, the live action Disney+ series starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, now has a trailer and a launch date of 19 March, 2021.

Armour Wars

Don Cheadle's James 'Rhodey' Rhodes – aka War Machine – will be back for an original series, focusing on what happens when 'tech falls into the wrong hands'.

She-Hulk featuring Mark Ruffalo

The She-Hulk series is now properly confirmed, with Tatiana Maslany playing Jennifer Walters, lawyer and cousin of Bruce Banner. Avengers icon Mark Ruffalo will be pitching in, as will Tim Roth, reprising his role as Abomination from 2008's The Incredible Hulk! Twist!

WandaVision/Doctor Strange crossover

As mentioned in our look at the Marvel movie announcements, Disney+/Marvel 'sitcom' WandaVision, featuring Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany's Vision living in weird wedded bliss, will also crossover with Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

There's a new trailer for WandaVision now too. Curiouser and curiouser.

Ms. Marvel

As well as appearing in Captain Marvel 2, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan - aka Ms. Marvel - will get her own series too, playing a the 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. It lands in late 2021.

Secret Invasion

Another new original series, in which we'll see Samuel L. Jackson back as Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn returning as Talos, the Skrull general from Captain Marvel.

First look at Loki

We've also now got our first look at the Loki series, bringing Tom Hiddleston's charismatic norse trickster back to the fold with his own series. As predicted, it will be a tesseract-tastic, dimension-bending bonanza.

I Am Groot

Guardians of the Galaxy tree and fan fave Groot – or Baby Groot to be precise – will star in a series of shorts for Disney+.

Iron Heart

Tony Stark protege and all-round genius Riri Williams – aka Ironheart – will be played by Dominique Thorne in this new spin-off.

Moon Knight

Described as 'a complex vigilante', Moon Knight – aka Marc Spector – has a distinctly Batman-esque vibe; a millionaire entrepreneur with a penchant for fighting crime on his downtime. Though unlike Bruce Wayne, Spector has superhuman abilities, as bestowed on him by an Egyptian deity. Oscar Isaac is rumoured to star.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

We won't have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to catch up with Star-Lord and the gang. Learning nothing (or perhaps everything) from Star Wars, James Gunn has written and will direct a 'holiday special', to air at Christmas 2022, ahead of the third movie arriving in 2023.
