Amber Tamblyn slams friend Rose McGowan for criticising Golden Globes protest: 'You don't have to support us'

Rose McGowan hasn't been shy about sharing her opinions since the news about Harvey Weinstein's sexual abuse scandal surfaced.

But speaking out this weekend landed her in some hot water with her friend and fellow actress Amber Tamblyn.

After Hollywood stars like Meryl Streep announced they would be using fashion as a form of protest at the Golden Globes, McGowan took to Twitter with some thoughts on Saturday, which have since been removed.

The former Charmed star wrote, “Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black at the Golden Globes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem.

She then added, “You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly and affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” a dig made with regards to Weinstein's estranged wife, Georgina Chapman who is the founder of high-end label Marchesa.

Tamblyn didn't take too kindly to her friend's statements, seeing them as shaming to those trying to make a difference.

It's important to note that Tamblyn too has been an outspoken advocate for sexual assault victims and hasn't remained silent on the subject.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress defended the Golden Globes fashion movement saying it was the beginning of something "big."

Tamblyn added, "You don’t have to support and stand with us, but we stand and support you. You may take below the belt shots at us but we will not take them at you in return.”

But her comments didn't resonate well with victims Asia Argento and former Charmed co-star Holly Marie Combs, who believed she shouldn't have called her out in public.

Tamblyn maintains she talked to McGowan "for over an hour" before doing so.

After Tamblyn made her point, she declared her unwavering love and support for McGowan.

It appears she'll be standing by McGowan regardless of any disagreements the two might have.
