2017’s long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King’s
It was a monster hit in every sense of the word. On top of being the best big-screen Stephen King adaptation since 2007’s ‘The Mist,’ it was also one of the most commercially successful horror movies ever.

It immediatelybegan thinking about the sequel – for, as the film’s final moments make clear, Andy Muschietti’s 1989-set film is only the first half of the epic tale, to be concluded in a 2016-set sequel reuniting the ‘Losers Club’ at age 40, to do battle with Bill Skarsgård’s dreaded Pennywise once more.

L-R: Jack Dylan Grazer, Jaeden Lieberher, Chosen Jacobs, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor and Finn Wolfhard are the Losers Club in ‘It’ – but who will play their adult counterparts in Chapter Two? (Credit: New Line Cinema)
Chastain seems an obvious contender to take over as the one female Loser, not only because she has the right hair, but also as she previously worked with director Andy Muschietti on ‘Mama.’ Plus, current Beverley actress Sophia Lillis has suggested her for the part. (Picture credit: WENN)
The ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Star Trek’ actor seems a good fit to succeed Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, more-or-less leader of the Losers Club. (Picture credit: WENN)
‘Stranger Things’ actor Finn Wolfhard, cast beautifully against type as motormouth Richie, has already suggested Hader as a suitable adult counterpart, and who are we to argue? (Picture credit: WENN)
As those familiar with the novel or TV mini-series will know, the overweight Ben grows into a buff adult, so we can see the ‘Avengers’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’ star pick up where Jeremy Ray Taylor left off. (Picture credit: WENN)
The ‘Black Panther’ star seems a likely candidate to take over from Chosen Jacobs – and again, Jacobs himself has suggested Boseman as his successor. (Picture credit: WENN)
We can see the ’13 Hours’ actor taking over from Jack Dylan Grazer as the hypochondriac Eddie. (Picture credit: WENN)
Again, those familiar with the source material know Stanley’s role in the latter half of ‘It’ is limited, but we could envisage the ‘There Will Be Blood’ actor taking over from Wyatt Oleff. (Picture credit: WENN)
