Yahoo Movies Amy Dowden cries on 'It Takes Two' as Danny John-Jules is a no show
Amy Dowden was forced to appear solo on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two on Monday night.
Her former Strictly partner Danny John-Jules refused to appear on the show, for which typically each ousted couple are interviewed together.
John-Jules was eliminated on Sunday and reports quickly surfaced that he was none too happy about it. This came days after additional reports that alleged he’d been ‘bullying’ Dowden during rehearsals – which both he and Dowden went on to firmly deny.
It Takes Two host Zoe Ball kicked the episode off with: “Sadly I’m afraid Danny has decided not to join us tonight but I’m delighted to have the gorgeous Amy here tonight.”
As Dowden was played a montage of her and John-Jules highlights, she broke down in tears. But she still said she was ‘proud’ of her celebrity partner and only spoke kind words about him.
“I’m so proud of Danny. Watching his journey – he is such a talented performer and I know and believe he belongs on the stage,” Dowden said.

She went on to say what a ‘dream job’ appearing on Strictly was.
“We did some amazing performances – the first 10 of the series, my first 10! That’s something I will never forget.
“It’s a dream job and I’m just very very lucky to have had the opportunity,” she said.
Fans praised Dowden’s ‘classy’ appearance on the show while another labeled John-Jules a ‘sore loser.’

While Dowden said she ‘never felt bullied’ by John-Jules she did admit during an earlier episode of It Takes Two that their Strictly rehearsal did ‘get intense.’
“Things did get a little bit intense the other day in rehearsals.
“But do you know what, we took a half an hour break and then got straight to it. I’ve never felt bullied or threatened by Danny,” she said.
